Non-Invasive Ultrasound Fat Reduction

Non-invasive Ultrasound Fat Reduction (NUFR) is a non-invasive fat removal treatment. The key benefit of NUFR is reducing fat from specific areas, allowing the body to be shaped to a more desired appearance.

NUFR may be used almost anywhere on the human body, including the face, back, pubic area, thighs, hips, buttocks, knees, upper arms, chin, cheeks and neck. The procedure has also been used to reduce excess fat from enlarged male breasts.

There is no pain, no recovery time and no side effects.  The procedure is not a surgery, so there is no anesthesia, no pain and therefore, nothing to recover from.  Patients literally receive the treatment and then immediately resume their daily routine.  The patient has full control over the treatment. Repeat treatments over several months are often necessary to get the desired results.

With NUFR, ultrasound waves, emitted from a comfortable, handheld tranducer, only target fat cells in the subcutaneous layer beneath the skin as the transducer is gently moved over the skin of the target area. The fat cells are emulsified by the ultrasound frequencies, leaving everything else in the body - nerves, blood vessels and connective tissues - intact.  The content of the destroyed fat cells, mostly triglycerides, is then moved through the vascular and lymphatic systems to the liver to be broken down and then expelled from the body naturally.  The result is visible inch loss in the treated area.

The body naturally removes various cells that naturally die in the body, however, there are limits on how much material the body can expel naturally over a 24-72 hour period.  Similar to LipoLaser, about 500 calories (2 to 3 ounces of fat) is about the upper limit that can naturally be removed per treatment session. While this may not seem like a lot in terms of overall body weight, it can be quite significant for specific problem areas.  NUFR would be most beneficial to people looking to sculpt only a couple inches from their body.

Non-invasive Ultrasound Fat Reduction is not to be confused with "ultrasound assisted liposuction", which is the use of ultrasound in an invasive, surgical liposuction treatment.
